Sophie isn’t have a good day today. I am not sure what is bothering her. It could be several things. She is having major yeast problems. The ketaconozole isn’t effectively controlling her yeast during her viral treatment. I have been giving a few drops of GSE, along with no fenol and biotin and this may be causing die off.
Ok this is were I lower my voice, turn my head and mumble. So I also added lysine today. I know, I know, I just added Virastop yesterday. I know better then to try a new supplement so soon after adding one. She is already going through all this viral die off on top of her yeast flare up. I don’t know how many times I have tried to get away with this and failed.
So here are her problems today. She is grinding her teeth, her visual stimming is really bad right now and she is hand posturing. She seems irritated, non compliant, emotional. She is humming a lot and having some vocal “tics” and her crotch seems to itch. Her eye contact isn’t as good as it usually is. Most of those symptoms scream yeast, but is it overgrowth or die off or both?
Autism is complicated.

Hang in there. I know I’ve asked myself that same question MANY times … is it yeast flare up, or die off?! So hard to know what’s bothering our kiddos. Here’s hoping Sophie feels much better today.

Comment by So why did Sophie have the bad days- Viral treatment week 6. | wakingsophie.com on June 20th, 2008 @ 11:44 amHave you tried activated charcoal to “mop-up” the toxins released during dieoff? Just a thought. Our DAN always recommends using activated charcoal to make our son more comfortable when we are fighting yeast.
Comment by Jessica on July 11th, 2008 @ 4:05 pmCharcoal does seem to help some, she might benefit from some now. Thank you for reminding me of it.

ok…i know no fenol kicks up yeast…seems like virastop and lysine cause yeast issues as the viruses die…and then the gse (my son went nuts on gse due to phenols) is prob trying to get the yeast to die…danasview.net is always awesome…also…isn’t there some rule about when to give the lysine and gse…or they cancel e/o?? our DAN is extremely systematic and we go 3-6 months b/w new things…i HATED this at first…but am seeing the rationale…it’s hard to slow down…but you don’t want to undermine the hard work your angel is doing each day…i try to remember how i felt when i gave up sugar for 30 days…it was the worst withdrawl ever…there’s no way i could’ve tackled any other “issue” and survived…LOL…
sorry so long…you’re daughter is blessed to have you!
